Turbine Movement @
Eggborough Power Station
Eggborough Power Station is a large coal-fired power station in North Yorkshire The T10 Tow tractor is used to move turbines housed on custom built trailers from operations to maintenance. The movement of heavy loads is made much simpler with 'inching buttons' which allow the tractor to be 'inched' towards or away from the load.

Inter Site Goods Transfers @
NiffyLift

The T6 tow tractor is helping Niftylift to transport parts the quarter of a mile from its stores to its production area on public roads.
Derrick Osborne, of Niftylift, explains: "We opened our new stores and were faced with the problem of transporting the materials in kit form from there to the assembly area. We looked at various options to do this, including a van and even a milk float, but found an electric tow tractor and trailer to be the most economical option." The tow tractor, which is customised in Nifty green is used all day and then charged overnight ready for use the next morning. Niftylift opted for the T6 model which is capable of towing up to seven tonnes.

Waste Movement @
James Dawson
The T1 electric tow tractor helps Lincoln-based hose manufacturer, James Dawson, solve a health and safety issue.
The tow truck allows large quantities of bulky, heavy waste to be moved with minimal risk. The waste used to be collected by manually emptying bins into a hand barrow and then emptying this into a skip.
Adrian Wood, health and safety officer, explains "We purchased a customised tow tractor that included a fifth wheel style coupling and purpose-built, low load wheelie bin trailer. This gives excellent manoeuvrability on the narrow gangways within the plant."
Each workstation now has a 360L wheelie bin. The operator simply replaces the full bin with an empty one and takes the waste to a central site where it is sorted and loaded into the compactor fitted with a bin lift, taking away the manual handling issues. The tractor has a 5mph speed limiter, audible warning when in reverse, and flashing beacon.
