Bradshaw Electric Vehicles has worked with Lindley Catering
Ltd to produce a vehicle designed specifically for the outdoor
catering market. The vehicle runs on electric, as gas-powered
vehicles and heating units are not allowed in football stadiums
due to health and safety regulations.
The vehicle which was developed for Lindley Catering by Bill
Finch, a design consultant and project manager, and Bradshaw
Electric Vehicles is currently being piloted at Leicester City
Football Club.
Paul Biffen of Lindley says: “The vehicle is currently
used at Leicester City’s ground and has also been trialled
at Manchester City. We are planning to use it at some major concerts,
gigs and horse race meets this year. If the pilot goes well we
will be developing more of these vehicles.”
The vehicle is based on a standard pedestrian-controlled vehicle,
re-designed and re-modelled with a bespoke superstructure with
three main elements:
- insulated lower deck to hold 200 pre-chilled drink cans
- rack to keep pies and pasties warm
- recess to carry a tea urn
Paul adds: “We needed a vehicle that
had sufficient capacity to hold enough drinks and pies to last
the half time rush and
Bradshaw did an excellent job designing this from scratch. To
top it all they were also nice to deal with.”
The vehicle is charged on the mains and when it is taken to
the customers, the electric vehicle motor maintains the temperature.
Minimal servicing is required for all Bradshaw vehicles, and
they are supported by a 12 month or 1000 hour warranty. Bradshaw
Electric Vehicles also guarantees a 24-hour response for parts
and labour throughout the UK.
Free driver familiarisation is included in the cost of the vehicle
and Bradshaw also offers a free site evaluation to determine
which vehicle is suitable for the task and environment.
