Westfield Community Technology College in Watford is using an
electric tow tractor from Bradshaw Electric Vehicles to transport
goods both in and around the school buildings. This is saving
time and releasing staff to carry out other tasks around the
school.
Nigel Parsons, Premises Manager at the School,
says: “Before
we acquired the vehicle we were using a trolley to push goods
around the school. We were moving everything, including bins,
parcels and computer equipment, manually. The tow tractor allows
us to transport more goods in less time, has enhanced the staff
skills set and we have been able to deploy our staff more widely.”
The vehicle, a T2 tow tractor with trailer,
was chosen as it can be used both inside and outside. Nigel
continues: “We
needed a vehicle that could be manoeuvred easily in the corridors
of the school as well as being rugged enough to be used outside.
An electric vehicle suits the purpose perfectly – it is
fume-free and so we can use it all through school buildings.
The vehicle is currently being used five hours a day, five days
a week and we are very pleased with the vehicle.”
The T2 from Bradshaws has a towing capacity of 2000kgs and
a carrying capacity 500kgs and its key benefit is its manoeuvrability
in narrow aisles and corridors and small turning circle.
Minimal servicing is required for all Bradshaw vehicles, and
they are supported by a 12 month or 1000 hour warranty. Bradshaw
Electric Vehicles also guarantees a 24-hour response for parts
and labour throughout the UK.
Free driver familiarisation is included in the cost of the vehicle
and Bradshaw also offers a free site evaluation to determine
which vehicle is suitable for the task and environment.
